Alexandria bay is a long walk either from Sunshine beach or Main beach. The shine is much closer through. Before you decide do go all the way with your family and friends, you should know that the only patrol is comprised of naked people wandering around. The beach is a major swell magnet however. Quite often, when things are quiet elsewhere, Alexandria will be out of control. Good areas would be south for groomed walls and north for fast tubes. No lifeguards, strong currents and powerful waves, with hardly anyone out should signal novices that it is probably not the best place to learn the art of waves.
