general information

A great spot for longboards in general but opens up to the bodyboard and shortboarding crew as soon as there is any serious swell involved. Agnes Waters is the northern most piece of coastline on the East Australian Coast that sees regular swell. Lying North of the lee of Fraser Island and south of the Great Barrier Reef, Agnes Waters and nearby 1700 offer solid surf options for the traveller. Mysto reefs lie 30 kilometres offshore for those of spirit.

The point here is often the best wave, an easy stroll from town. An easy paddle and the sort of wave you could cruise on your 9 footer with at least 5 on the nose. Cyclonic activity really takes things up a notch or two with the point exploding in anything up to a solid 10-12 foot. Plenty of other options in the area offering shelter in extreme winds if you find yourself bunkered down here during a big blow.
