general information

Getting here will require 4 wheel driving or a major-major walk, from Rainbow beach which is located south of Double Island Point (DIP). Named Double Island by Captain Cook in 1770, the point has a solar-powered lighthouse standing atop. North side of the point is a primary surf location, with southern side occasionally being the sport of choice if winds are blowing from North and there is some E-ENE swell. Rarely crowded and rarely breaking, this spot can wear you out when it does. 500-meter ride, means 500-meter paddle. Camp with friends and see what comes your way. For when its flat, grab some fishing rods or snorkelling gear.  Also, just off DIP is the Wolf Rock, volcanic formation, which is considered to be one of the best scuba diving destinations in Australia, should the spot remain dormant, take your chances to soak up amazing underwater experiences.
