general information
Icarai is a local classic, regularly holding contests of the WQS variety. It's an expanse of beach with many peaks able to throw up quality waves. Optimally you'll see a decent northeast swell and offshore south-westerlies, in the summer months, which keeps the beach populated. But it has waves year round, and can be considered consistent. It's about some 10 minutes by car from the Ceará river which marks the start of the state capital Fortaleza.
