general information
Playa Raya offers two sandy point breaks at low to mid tide, that breaking either side of a large sandbar formation. Waves here can be deceptively large if the swell angle is just right. It requires a fair trek down from the road, across paddocks and so will most likely be deserted, unless of course it is firing. It is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including manta rays (from which the beach takes its name), as well as turtles.......oh yes and sharks.
