Picturesque 1.5 km beach slightly crescent shaped. Open to North swells it usually has pounding surf in winter, with surfers preferring the west end where the Lumaha'i river empties into the ocean. While body boarders tend to take on the sucking shore breaks. Cuurents and undertow make this one for experienced surfers. Lumaha'i Beach stared in the film South Pacific. So is also sometimes referred to as South Pacific Beach.
