general information
Maria Island is host to an incredible collection of points, reefs and beachbreaks. Set squarely in the deeper water of the Gulf of Carpentaria, Maria takes little swell to come alive but alas, your swell train here is totally reliant upon the passage of Tropical cyclone activity. Breaks a handful of times per year, mainly Dec-Jan. Access via boat, sharks and sea snakes to consider.
