The 1.5km long stretch of beach north of Newport hosts a variety of nice beach break peaks. The corner close to Yaquina Head provides protection from north winds. Generally has waves in any swell from southwest to northwest, but is easily wind affected. On smaller days it's draws beginners and long boarders, however it can handle well overhead and when this happens it thins the crowd out.
