general information
North facing beach at the end of the Mokapu Peninsula, and on the Kaneohe Marine Base. Open to most northerly swells, it's relies on offshore or glassy conditions to work. When this happens you may find clean and fast waves with longish barrel sections over a sandbar.
A good option in winter if there's a good north swell and everyone else is heading to the other side of the island. Only problem is that this is military land and so access is restricted. So unless you have a military friend, you'll be taking a boat and running the gauntlet with the MP's on the beach. for something more challenging, check out Pyramid Rock at the western end of the beach. Rumours of other offshore reefs aswell.
