general information

Just west of Playa El Emir is a rock-reef beak called La Virgen. Named so because of the statue on the nearby rocks. La Virgen is one of the better waves around when it does beak properly. A powerful left hander breaks over a sharpish urchin covered rock-reef. It gets better as the tide drops and can get quite hollow towards low tide. Not as consistent as the nearby breaks, but certainly a step up on the gnarly scale.
