general information

Just north of Playa Herradura is a quality reef break at Playa Escondida. The wave breaks over a horseshoe shaped reef that throws up a barreling left and a not so hollow right. The left has more power than the right and is the preferred wave. Likes a solid west to southwest swell and gets very shallow at low tide. There is beach access there if you're a member or guest of the beach club, otherwise you'll be doing what most do, and that is getting a boat from Herradura or Jaco.
