general information
About six kilomters north of Jaco is Playa Herradura. Though the beach here doesn't really set up for surf well, and typically the beach will only yield learner waves, there is a left hand point-reef break out towards Isla Herradura at the southern end of the beach. Unless you want to do a long, rock hopping walk, the break is best accessed by boat, and there will be plenty ready to take you there. Requires a large west-southwest swell to work and offshore east-northeasters, so doesn't break that often. But if it does, it's definitely worth the trip.
