Located at the village of San Francisco, which locally is known as San Pancho. It gets this name from the Spanish nickname for Francisco, which is Pancho. The spot also takes this name. The wave has fast walls that break over a sandy reef just off the beach. The left is the preferred and longer option here. BEst of lower end of the tide when it can get hollow, but is surfable at all tides.
The spot is located close to the large beachfront resort of Costa Azul which caters for the surf crew and tourists alike. This means the wave is likely to be crowded and you might consider heading further south to the quality breaks around Punta Mita or Sayulita. Costa Azul also runs surf tours and boats out to less crowded breaks.
