general information
Another popular, quality beach break due to its town centre location. A great wave for beginners with surfboard hire and lessons available from the surf shop near to the pier. There is plentiful parking here and a pub right near the break too!! The best waves break either side of the long pier on a clean mid sized north easterly swell. To the south end of the beach are a couple of reef breaks called The Point and Penny Hole. The Point is a quality right hand point that works at low tide on a large clean swell and the corner Penny Hole is a low tide peak with a left and a right.
