general information

River surfing spot on St, Lawrence River, close to downtown Montreal. Named after the adjacent lego-like housing complex Habitat 67, that formed part of the Expo '67.

Requires some paddling to negotiate the river currents and rapids, not to mention the long swim if you lose your board. The water is chilly, not so surprisng since the surface of the lake freezes solid for part of the year. Definately worthy of a 4/3, booties and hoods.

The wave quality is actually measured in water flow level, fast and high means steeper more difficult waves, slow and low means fatter and easier. Watch the locals to determine which it is. Think white water kayaking.
