general information

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has set up camp on Garden Island, Western Australia. Garden Island has the benefit of being along the same continental shelf line as Rottnest Island and hence feels more swell in the area than the surrounding Perth metro area. The downside is that unless you are in the Australian Navy, it is very difficult to gain access to the breaks on the western shoreline here, and there are some quality breaks.

A 'Beagle' is the endearing term used to describe an Officers Steward. At the end of this road lies an enterpring left hand reef break that peels for 100 metres in a clean SW swell. Alternate access via boat in the adjacent channel but do not land on the island without permission, you will end up in a lot of bother.
