general information

Probably the most famous big wave spot in Australia and home to a WQS contest every year around April. The wave breaks both left and right, though the left is the best, over a fairly shallow rock ledge and on the biggest of days it can produce a 25ft drop down it's very steep face and into the bowl below followed by a long walling ride into the channel, assuming you made the drop!  It's a long paddle out and the peak can sometimes be a bit shifty in strong currents. Definatly should only be attempted by qualified surfers on boards to handle it, and bicycle clips might help you to avoid any embarrasing moments after the drop.
