general information
Collaroy is at the southern end of Narrabeen Beach, just over Pittwater Road from the Collaroy shops. The wave is a bit inconsistent and when it does break it is quite weak but ideal for the longboard or learner as they do tend to peel along for a while.
Collaroy is best on a large swell on the open beaches that comes around the corner and creates a smaller wave on the reef. As the wave does break over a rocky out crop it is worth taking a bit of care, especially in the corner by the pool.
In BIG swells there can also be a decent wave out the back that can appeal to shortboards. This tends to be the case only a few times a year.
