general information

A very famous pointbreak for both its long quality rides and horrendous crowding. It works best in the summer warm swells from the south and north offshore winds. It consists of three main takeoff spots. The peak at the very outside is known as Third Point. This requires a mid tide and it offers powerful and fast tubes but is the most fickle of the points spots. Second Point is just inside Third Point and again needs a mid tide to serve up a long walling ride with plenty of speed and power, on bigger days and with the correct swell angle, Third and Second Points may link together to form one wave.

First Point is by far the most consistent and most forgiving of the sections and is hence the most popular and crowded. It offers up perfect walling rides which are synonymous with longboarders, indeed the classic Malibu shaped longboard takes its name from this Southern California pointbreak!
