general information

One of Australia’s most famous waves and still one of the best, crowds aside. It's the starting section of the world famous Superbank (see Superbank spot page) and given birth to many top pro surfers, Mick Fanning, Parko etc. Its name is derived from its excellent fishing, but is now more famed for its heavy takeoffs and world class tubing sections. Accessibility and quality make this break super crowded and drop-ins and occasional agro in the line-up are inevitable, but if you do snag a ride expect anything from 50 metres to over a 1000 on just the right day, provided you don’t get burned!!
